Waxing faqs

I'm pregnant can I still wax?

Yes. You may be a little bit more sensitive but you can still be waxed.

How long should my hair be?

If you have been shaving, please allow at least 3 weeks growth for better waxing results.

I'm on my period can I still get waxed?

Yes. Your body tends to be more sensitive due to the change of hormones but you can still be waxed. We ask that you use a fresh tampon before your appointment.

Can I wax if I'm taking Retin A, Accutane or Renova?

These medications increase the rate at which your skin exfoliates so waxing could potentially remove skin as well as hair. Also be aware that chemical peels, laser, and micro-dermabrasion can also affect skin integrity. Please let your esthetician know if you are on any medication.

What's the difference between a bikini and a brazilian?

A bikini wax removes hair that extends outside of the panty line. A brazilian wax removes all of the hair including the butt crack.

How soon will my hair grow back?

Everyone is different, most people will experience hair free skin for 3 to 6 weeks depending on your individual hair growth. Hair that is removed from the root grows back finer and softer over time.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

  • Wear loose comfortable clothing.

  • Exfoliate the day before.

  • Don't cut your hair we will trim if needed.

  • Clients should wait 4 weeks after shaving before waxing for optimal results.

  • Your hair should be at least a quarter of an inch in length in order for the wax to grab the hair.

  • Please do NOT shave or use any other hair removing product as it will make your

hairs more sharper and harder.

Aftercare

After waxing you may experience some irritation or redness in the area that was waxed this is normal.

  • No tanning beds, saunas, pools or steam rooms for the next two days.

  • Sexual activity should be avoided for 24 hours.

  • Exfoliate 48 hours after waxing to prevent ingrown hairs, but only after the skin has calmed down from waxing.

  • Shower using lukewarm water only.

  • Keep hands away from touching freshly waxed skin as this can encourage irritation or expose the area to bacteria.

  • Wear loose fitting clothing (Skin needs to breathe after waxing).

  • Avoid applying topical lotions for at least 24 hours.

  • Please avoid shaving in between waxing this makes the hair resistant to future waxing.
